'This is Not a Subject for Comedy' is a comic monologue about Israel, Palestine and the Jews written and performed by Anglo-Jewish comedian Ivor Dembina. The show is based on events surrounding Ivor’s visits to Israel and the West bank. Since its premier in Washington DC in 2004, the show has been performed in Edinburgh, Munich, Jerusalem and Ramallah.

"I am one of those Jews who believes we should give back the occupied territories - although I think we should hang on to New York"

His gags are plentiful and at times painfully funny. Dembina is that rarest of comedians, not afraid to tackle political subjects while remembering the most important element is to keep the audience laughing.'
International Herald Tribune

'A compelling piece boasts drama and broad laughs. While other acts prefer knee-jerk Blair-baiting, it's heartening to hear from a performer who has genuinely risked his life for his beliefs.'
London Evening Standard
